Working with quality childrens literature, both traditional and contemporary, this course will support and inspire teachers to use active approaches to develop children's language. Teachers participating in this one day practical course will take part in a progrssional journey through proven Drama techniques which will build language confidence and provide a secure, challenging learning environment in the classroom.

Using themed texts appropriate to Key Stage One, Key Stage Two and transition from Key Stage Two to Key Stage Three, the course offers a manageable staged approach to classroom Drama. The day will engage, reassure and connect teachers with the fundamentals of teaching and learning which they will recognise. During the day time will be given to workshop engagement with conventions designed to develop children's writing and speaking as well as their reading and listening. Time will also be available for learning analysis and teacher planning all in a structured but informal atmosphere where teachers can scrutinise practice and pedagogy throughout the day.
