WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

This one day workshop provides an opportunity to spend the day with Jane Considine, learning how to use The Write Stuff principles and techniques to plan a complete unit of work. During this workshop, Jane will guide teachers through the process of creating an effective writing unit.

HOW WILL THIS WORKSHOP BENEFIT TEACHERS?

This workshop will help teachers to

  • develop a greater understanding of the writing expectations for this year group.
  • sharpen subject knowledge of the punctuation and grammar teaching required for this year group.
  • find out how to create a complete unit of work by mapping a logical teaching sequence, creating experience sessions and planning Sentence Stacking lessons.
  • understand the teaching sequence and expectations for independent writing at the end of a Write Stuff unit.
IMPACT ON FUTURE PRACTICE

Both The Write Stuff book and The Write Stuff conferences introduce teachers to the Three Zones of Writing, Sentence Stacking and Deepen the Moment. These concepts are further illustrated in the free example unit plans available on our website. This workshop is the next step for teachers that have started to use Jane’s approaches as she will share her expertise in how to build a unit of work. Teachers that join this workshop will end the day with a complete unit plan to use in their classroom and the skills to select any fiction book and plan a unit of work in the future.

 WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?
